I'm a retired programmer, an experienced British English tutor, and the author of "How to Go Up a Band in IELTS."
With my background in IT and a gentle and patient teaching style, I've assisted many non-native speakers in improving their communication abilities before moving to Canada, Australia, and the UK or studying there.
I have a Master's in IT and a level 5 certificate in teaching English to speakers of foreign languages. The British Council taught me to teach IELTS. I have been president of both Gloucester and Cheltenham Speakers public speaking clubs.

Over the last couple of months, Kate has been teaching me how to effectively structure Task 1 and Task 2 essays for IELTS. Together, we read through all of my essays word by word and Kate provided valuable suggestions on the adjustments necessary to achieve my target band. Kate is a kind and understanding teacher. She has many unique test tips and is willing to share them with her students. I didn't have much time to prepare for the IELTS test, but with Kate's help I achieved way more than expectation in just 2 weeks.
