Hi there! My name is Zita, I come from Leiden, a city in The Netherlands, but I'm now living in Brazil. I would love to help you learn Dutch or improve your Dutch language skills, and of course as a Dutch person I can give you some insights into my own culture ;-) I studied Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology in the Netherlands. In Brazil, I have worked as an English teacher at language schools for over seven years and the last three years I've been tutoring Dutch here on Italki, which has been a great experience! I love travelling to discover new places, hiking in nature, swimming in the sea, and meeting people from different places and learn about their culture!

I have studied English, Spanish and Portuguese, so I know exactly how hard it is to learn a new language. That's why I always try to create a comfortable and relaxed environment during the lessons, where you feel completely free to make mistakes, as this is a very natural and necessary part of the learning process. Each person learns very differently, so I try to figure out what kind of learner you are and where possible, adapt my lessons to your learning style, to keep you motivated and progressing. There is nothing more rewarding than to see my students gain confidence and improve their language skills, so I'll do my best to give you the support to accomplish that!

Basic-Dutch Lessons: for beginners that really start from scratch! I teach you day-to-day basic conversation, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation in a clear and interactive way, to get you understanding and speaking Dutch from class 1 on. The course is very visual and focussed on speaking. It will take you from A0 to A1 level. Conversation Practise: for those of you that already speak a bit of Dutch (A2/B1 level and up). You choose a topic, or I'll send you material (articles, video's, music) that we can use as a starting point for our conversation, and meanwhile I'll correct your vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation in a natural, interactive way. I hope to see you in the trial lesson!

Zita has everything one can wish for in a teacher. Always encouraging, a very good listener, she corrects me as much as I need, very positive and easy-going. I am so grateful for having found her and I am always looking forward to my lessons. My favourite teacher by far!
