Wonji

I really love and look forward to my conversations with Wonji each week! She is so much fun to talk to. It truly feels like I'm catching up with a friend week after week. She is also so incredibly patient and encouraging. Sometimes it takes me a bit to formulate what I want to say in my head. Like any language learner, I have my good and bad days. So I really appreciate that Wonji creates a space for me to think through things at my pace, especially on days where I'm a bit slower. I also feel comfortable with making mistakes or stating that I am not sure of something in our sessions because I know that Wonji has my back, will happily explain things to me in a way I understand, and isn't there to judge me. If you're reading this and considering taking lessons with Wonji, DO IT! My Korean speaking and confidence has totally improved since our first trial session. I have been taking lessons with Wonji for about 7 months now. Recently I bumped the amount of classes with her up to 3-4 times a week for an hour each. She is easily the most patient person in existence. I have messed up the same words over and over and she never complains or gets frustrated. She continually challenges me and pushes me to get better, even when I am really struggling. She deals with my southern accent and terrible pronunciation and encourages me to talk about anything that I want to talk about. She's open minded, full of energy, and always prepared for class. She gives 110% every single class even though I show up for many of our classes tired from work. I have gone from barely being able to introduce myself, to being able to have conversations with her in Korean in less than a year. Seriously, if you are thinking about giving her a shot, stop thinking and just do it. You absolutely will not regret it!

Wonji is an amazing teacher! She was always so bright and encouraging even when my brain was not working during her lessons. And even as she joins a new opportunity in her life right now, she is so considerate in providing me with many different resources and connecting me with group study pdfs. I am so thankful I had the chance to learn with her as I continue my Korean language journey!

i’ve been learning koran with wonji for a little over a month now. i feel like i have gotten so much better at korean already and learned so much. she is very good at explaining things in a way that makes sense and is very prepared and supportive.

I am so grateful for finding a teacher like Wonji, she is an amazing person, she has a really nice personality, she makes you feel special and keeps you motivated to keep studying. She taught me Korean from the very basics to knowing how to have a conversation in Korean. She is really patient and caring and I always look forward to her classes every week ☺️
