My name is Olga or Helga and I am here to teach Bulgarian, Dutch, Swedish and Norwegian. I am open-minded, creative and communicative. These skills help me teaching in an amusing and interesting manner.

I find learning languages quite fun and if you share any of my passions, then we can make the learning process equally fun for both of us. Just like how eyes are the window to the soul; language is the window to the soul of a nation. I have a bachelor's degree in Modern greek philology and i have participated in different international language programs.

PhD in Applied Linguistics; +15 years of language teaching experience at university level I have been teaching German and Italian for over 15 years at a prestigious Canadian University as well as at a local language school. I have experience teaching all levels and age groups, both in-person and online.

As a PhD student in Bulgarian literature, I am interested in Bulgarian literature and cinema from the period of Socialism (1944-1989) and I believe that these topics would help my students not only in learning the language itself, but also in getting to know Bulgaria, its history and culture. I am patient and consistent in my work so it would be a pleasure to teach Bulgarian language even to complete beginners.

Más de 17 años de experiencia I never thought that teaching could be the right job for me, but - here I am - seventeen years and around a thousand of students later. At some point, I realised that teaching had become a passion. My professional experience before italki was focused mainly on exam preparation both in English (e.g. Cambridge, Trinity) and German (Goethe Institut, telc) and included - apart from the usual group and individual, intensive and regular courses - level-testing and organising mock exams. For several years, I also worked as an English examiner and corrector at one of the universities in Spain. I hold a C2 Certificate in Spanish (DELE).

An interpreting major, speaking 5 languages, overjoyed to guide you on your language journey! 🥳 Teaching my students and friends how to speak languages has been something that naturally occurred from a young age. My friends' parents would have their kids practice English with me and once I went to university, I started teaching Italian and Bulgarian privately.
