About a week ago, I had the pleasure of visiting my family's hometown, Oxford. From atop Carfax Tower, the city's historic heart, I captured this stunning view.
Did you know? 'Carfax' derives from the Latin 'quadrifurcus,' meaning 'four-forked,' referencing the crossroads where the tower stands. The tower itself is all that remains of the 12th-century St. Martin's Church, once the official city church of Oxford.
Standing 23 metres tall, Carfax Tower offers one of the best panoramic views of Oxford's 'dreaming spires.' Climbing its 99 steps is truly worth the effort!
