The CBLT approach is a student-centered teaching approach where the focus is on what learners are expected to DO with the language. In other words, mastering how to navigate situations like socializing with people on vacation, confronting a noisy neighbour, enquiring about a product/service, or even asking someone out on a date! 

For young learners, lesson themes could include how to discuss your hobbies in detail, weekend adventures with friends, responsibility, and/or future plans like getting a summer job. This lesson type is suitable for students at all language levels who are interested in improving their spoken English.  


In our classes, the focus is on mastering the language you will need in order to feel confident tackling daily situations in English. If you are the type of student who prefers to learn from grammar books or who priorities mastering grammar terminology over functional language, we may not be the best fit. But, if you are the type of student who would like to practise using English for real-life situations, I look forward to meeting you in class!
