14+ years experience in distance teaching and learning Since 2010, I constantly learn together with conversation partners in various languages. From this experience, I have gained ideas how language learning through conversation and via the internet is fun and efficient. My professional background is in education, but not in languages but in technical domains. This is is a little different than teaching in 1:1 settings, but I am still using several ideas from my other life also on italki. I like to help you to learn German as your conversation partner and teacher and support you to reach your learning goals.

In 2001 I began to teach German as a Foreign Language at the German Cultural Center which is the official representative of the Goethe Institute in the City of Monterrey- Mexico. In 2012 I taught German at the University Regiomontana. It was very satisfactory to prepare students to obtain the Scholarships offered by the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) to study and to do their Internship in German companies

Selbstbewusst Deutsch sprechen :D I have lots of fun discussing and explaining German words, phrases and sentence structure. I have been supporting language learners on Italki since January 2019. In the past I have lived in many countries. Whenever I am back home in Germany I go back to driving an abulance. My students appreaciate my slow and clear speech. I am very patient - I dont mind repeating myself over and over again :) Repetition is essential. I encourage students to make mistakes as they catalyse the learning process.

What we will do in our time together here on italki is: enjoying the learning process through maybe sometimes challenging exercises of having free conversation and writing together, maybe recording texts and listening to examples of native speakers. Of course we will model our time together according to your level, needs and expectations. So, I am very open to wishes and suggestions.
