The National High School Baseball Championship of Japan, commonly known as "Summer Koshien", is an annual nationwide high school baseball tournament. It is the largest scale amateur sport event in Japan, even as soccer continues to gain more attention.

野球（やきゅう / yakyū）：baseball
プロ野球（ぷろやきゅう / puroyakyū）：professional baseball
甲子園（こうしえん / kōshien）：Koshien (location of Koshien Stadium, where the Japan National High School Baseball Tournament is held)
野球場（やきゅうじょう / yakyūjō）：baseball stadium
トーナメント（とーなめんと / tōnamento）：tournament
優勝する（ゆうしょうする / yūshōsuru）：win
アマチュア（あまちゅあ / amachua）：amateur
 感動する（かんどうする / kandōsuru）：be impressed
伝統的な（でんとうてきな / dentōtekina）：traditional
ドラマチック（どらまちっく / doramachikku）：dramatic

「むだ」もそんなに難しいことばではありませんね。
でも、ときどき、意味が分からない「むだ」がありませんか。

勉強しましょう！

「どうせ」や「それ以上」も一緒に使って、
諦め（あきらめ）の表現（ひょうげん）も使ってみますよ。

〈意味〉
役(やく)に立(た)たないこと／意味(いみ)のないこと／必要(ひつよう)のないこと

【無駄(むだ)】〈名詞／な形〉
こんな風(ふう)に使(つか)います･･･
「無駄なN」、「Sは無駄だ」、「Sが無駄になる」、「Sが（なに）を無駄にする」


今日は・・・

①時間のむだになっちゃったね。もう捨てるしかないのかな。
②そんなことをしてもむだだよ。完成したって言えないもん。

①努力をしても役に立たないこと　
②時間を使っても意味がないこと　
③お金を使っても意味がないこと　

◎「がんばっても意味がないこと」
→「がんばるの　むだ」？？　「がんばるの【は】むだだ」OK！
もっと自然(しぜん)な言い方「がんばってもむだ」「がんばるだけむだ」

①待っても意味がないこと 〈理由〉どうせ来ない
②いっしょうけんめいやっても意味がないこと 〈理由〉どうせできない
③いそいでも意味がないこと 〈理由〉どうせ間に合わない

〈4〉
①料理が必要のないものになった。
②レッスンに払(はら)ったお金を意味のないものにした。
