Throughout my school life, there were more than 20 subjects I have learned. Each of them left different memory for me. Some of them were bored and difficult, but others were interesting and inspirational. Among them, I liked history most. A history class just liked an adult told stories to children. Especially the events happened BC were really mystic. When I imagined the moment of the Code of Hammurabi was promulgate, I can see the light of civilization begin to sprend around the world. When I read the first emperor of China Qingshihuang built the Great Wall and unified the country, I can see Terra-Cotta Warriors come back and fight with the enemies. After learning history, I really liked to visit the famous heritages while having a trip. When I stood on the land where some important events happened in history, I immediately travelled back the time when the event happening in my mind. It felt really increditable. When I read some failure examples in history, I know what I should do when I face the same situation. History is not only a subject that helps us to know the past, but also like a mirror that helps us know what the things we are doing are right or wrong?

Throughout my school life, I studied more than 20 subjects. Each one left a different impression on me. Some were boring and difficult, while others were interesting and inspiring. Among them, history was my favorite. History class felt like listening to an adult telling stories to children. The events that happened in ancient times, especially before our common era, always seemed mysterious to me. When I imagined the moment the Code of Hammurabi was announced, I could almost see the light of civilization beginning to spread across the world. When I read about Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China, building the Great Wall and unifying the country, I imagined the Terracotta Warriors coming to life and fighting off enemies. After learning history, I began to love visiting famous heritage sites while traveling. Standing on the land where important historical events happened made me feel as if I had traveled back in time. It was truly an incredible experience. Reading about failures in history also taught me important lessons. When I face similar situations in life, I remember what happened in the past and know how to respond better. History is not just a subject that teaches us about the past—it’s like a mirror that helps us understand whether what we’re doing now is right or wrong.
"BC" means a time before year 1 in the Western calendar. People now often say "BCE" (Before Common Era) instead. It means the same thing. For example: 500 BC or 500 BCE means 500 years before year 1.

After learning about Chinese history, I really liked to visit famous places that held a part of the Chinese heritage while travelling. When I stood on the land where some important events happened in history, I immediately travelled back in time and had the feeling that I was living again those historical events and it felt really incredible. When I read about historical failures, I know what I should do when I face the same situations. History is not only a subject that helps us knowing/understanding the past, but it also act like a mirror that helps us know if the things we do are right or wrong.
