When you're sick of something, can you say "I've had enough" or "I had enough"? Thank you a lot đŸ’«đŸ™đŸ»

Both "I've had enough" and "I had enough" are correct phrases to express that you are sick of something or have reached your limit. "I've had enough" is the present perfect tense and is used to describe a past action that has a connection to the present. In this case, it implies that you have been dealing with something for a while, and you have now reached your limit. For example, "I've had enough of this job. I need to find a new one." "I had enough" is the past simple tense and is used to describe a completed action in the past. It implies that you reached your limit at a specific point in the past. For example, "I had enough of the noise, so I left the party early." Both phrases convey a similar meaning, but "I've had enough" is often used in more informal contexts and can also convey a more ongoing sense of frustration, while "I had enough" is more straightforward and typically used in more formal contexts.

Definitely say: “I’ve had enough.”

If you mean to express how you feel right now, you should say "I've had enough", not "I had enough". Other ways to say this are "I'm fed up" "I've reached my limit" "That's all, I can take no more" Notice that all of these are present tense (I am, I have, I can). Present perfect is a present tense, not a past tense. If, on the other hand, you want to express how you felt yesterday, say "yesterday, I had enough" or "yesterday I reached my limit" or "yesterday I could take no more".

Hi Alina Both are grammatically correct sentences. But because in your question you use the word "you're", therefore you are using "are" which is present tense, and therefore you need to say "I've had enough..." because it describes the recent past and the situation that exists now (in the present). This is Present Perfect. "I had enough" is grammatically correct but is used in a different context
