Imagine yourself in a different century, past or future, and describe an average day in your life. In a few words, here’s an average day in my life in the 22nd century. I get up at seven in the morning and after getting ready for work I get into my flying car. At work, my colleagues and I use holograms and virtual reality with our costumers in other countries. Our computers generate an environment which allows us to interact with other people overseas as if we were in the same room. These people become part of this virtual world as they immerse within this environment and while there, they are able to manipulate objects or perform a series of actions. We can feel each other’s strong handshake because of sensors that take information from the real world and upload it to the internet. In the evening, when I get home from work, my living room recognizes me and check my profile preferences like climate control, music, TV, overall ambient light level, among other things. Before going to bed I think about two things: the traffic of flying cars crossing the skies over the skyscrapers and the work problems that I will face the next day.
