On Vs About? Hi! 1- I'd like to know what the difference is between saying "This is a book on flowers" and "This book is about flowers" ? 2- In this sentence "The professor gave a intersting talk on his book", can I replace ON with ABOUT? and what the difference in the meaning would be? Regarding both the questions as Britta said with 1 both can used and it is acceptable. On question 2 you had spelt "interesting" wrong. Again both can used with this question aswell. I guess "about the book" instead of "on the book" is a more formal way of saying it.
