"be married to sb." or "be married sb."? Which is right? or both are used? Can I say " He was married to her" and " She was married to him" both? Is there any other way to say two people get married? Thanks a lot!

Can I say " He was married to her" and " She was married to him" both? Yes, you can use both ways of expressing the idea. Is there any other way to say two people get married? Yes. EXAMPLE: The two shared a matrimonial bond. (Not a very common expression.) The couple was bound by matrimony. The two were joined in marital bliss. The two had a license to fight. (An idiomatic expression from the USA.)

You can marry someone, or you can be/get married to someone. "Be married sb" doesn't make any sense. If the couple is the subject (not just one of them), then you can say, "they married" or "they got married" or "they are married". Tip: don't ever use "with" in this expression. I often see/hear students use this, and it's simply a mistake.

Yep. These 2 are confusing for me too.
