What does "mayweather " mean ?
These day I saw some people use "mayweather " in their comments.
Eg. I was about to tell a joke about mayweather, But it ran away!
But I can't find it in the dictionary.
Google only tells me it's a first name of an American professional boxer.
Is there anyone know what does "mayweather" mean and how to use it ?
Thanks.
Peggie
They mean the name of the American boxer. Mayweather is a very good defensive boxer, and some people say that instead of fighting he runs away. That is the joke.

You've already found the answer: they're talking about the boxer.
The joke is that in one of his recent fights, Mayweather spent more time running away from his opponent than actually fighting.

'Mayweather' is a surname, but as a word it doesn't mean anything at all.
As two separate words, 'May weather', it's a compound noun meaning the weather during the month of May. Perhaps your joke has something to do with that?

I only know that is a boxer name.
Or maybe it is a short name for "weather in may". I'm not sure at all.
