The whole expression means "telling a lie"
など means "such as..." "like that"

My translation: "In order to avoid losses he did things like presenting lies and it became a problem"

損をしている= to be at a loss/disadvantage (additionally this can refer to having lost money)
うそを発表する = to announce/present lies
