I strongly disagree with pretty much everything President Bush has ever said or done, but I do not think insulting him or throwing things at him was appropriate. As the daughter of two journalists, I can say that journalists are supposed to remain impartial and are not supposed to express political opinions.
However, the news service that this man worked for seems just as unprofessional. I read an article yesterday that said that the news service had put video of the "attack" on its website and refused to take it down when asked by the Iraqi government.
Then again, read this editorial from The Guardian. It's really interesting (and, in watching the video, I noted the same thing as this writer - the man was definitely being brutally beaten, and his screams were screams of pain).

I understand the sentiment, but. . .
The guy who threw the shoe was a journalist. Professional journalists should try to be impartial and unbiased (at least while they're working.)
I think that It showed a great deal of un-professionalism to do something like that at a news conference. Whatever news service that he works for probably has less credibility as a result of his actions.

I think it's hilarious. People want to do worse to Bush, but that has to be the most classic way of telling someone you dislike him/her. wahaha~
