With regard to ' a strip of land'
Do you know how many the area of ''a strip of land' is?
I cannot understand the exact area even if I hear a strip of land.
A strip of land is not an exact area and depends heavily on the context to define its size for example take the sentence "they fought over a tiny strip of land".
If i change the context "tiny strip of land" can be as large as a country (a small country but still) E.g. "Israel and the Palestinians have been fighting over a tiny strip of land."
in this sentence all of Israel is a "tiny strip of land".
or if i change the context to "During WWI soldiers fought over a tiny strip of land known as no mans land"
the context makes "a tiny strip of land" become the area between the trenches.
however a "strip" of land is always relatively long and thin, but the overall area can change drastically

It is not exact. Depending on perspective, it could be any size.
