heavens Rain, somebody said, is like confetti from heaven. So even the heavens are celebrating this morning, joining the rest of us at this wonderful commencement ceremony. Why did it use plural form of "heaven", and use "the" in front of "heavens" of the second sentence? Because I think there is only one heaven, and there is no necessary to refer to a specific heaven.
