Recommend Is it correct to say " I recommend something to someone? e.g. I recommend using another platform to you?"-- or -- "I'd recommend moving to another apartmen/ flat to you? Thank you

I second the other comments and want to add that there're more casual ways to make recommendations. Such as: I think [someone] should [verb] That's way more common than saying recommend

User ~ Since both sentences "assume" that you are talking directly to the individual you are recommending something to, you can shorten each sentence to a more natural: "I recommend another platform." "I recommend moving." Or, "I recommend you move." This is generally the way we chat, we remove extraneous words from our sentences as much as possible, (in American English).

Yes, this sentence is correct "I recommend something to someone." However when you are speaking to someone, you do not add the "to you" at the end. Instead you say, I recommend using another platform, or I'd recommend moving to another apartment. OR - It would also be correct to say: I recommend that you use another platform. I'd recommend that you move to another apartment.

Yes, but to sound more natural I might change the order slightly: I recommend that you use another platform I'd recommend that you move to another apartment/ flat
