Meu nome é Leonardo Severo, sou brasileiro, falo inglês fluentemente e espanhol intermediário. Sou nascido no interior do Rio Grande do Sul e atualmente moro em uma cidade universitária chamada Santa Maria. Além disso, gosto muito de artes e natureza incluindo, músicas, filmes, séries, desenhos animados e o meio ambiente.
My name is Leonardo Severo, I am Brazilian, I speak English fluently and Spanish at an intermediate level. I was born in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul and currently live in a university town called Santa Maria. Trabalho com aulas de português para estrangeiros na universidade pública. Fui professor bolsista, monitor e elaborador de materiais didáticos no Laboratório Entrelínguas da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Atualmente, sou bolsista no programa PEC-PLE, no qual atuo nas mesmas funções e na mesma universidade. I like that Leonardo's personalized approach to teaching: he analyzed our past lessons and figured out what was the most difficult for me. Using this data he changes the way he is teaching the class in such a way I get the most benefit from it. He structures it in a way that first we go over some grammar exercises and then based on grammar learnt from it have some conversational exercises. This approach helps me to associate rules with their usage in practice, memorize it sooner and understand on deeper level.

Leonardo was great at explaining basics of Portuguese, for example sounds that are specific to Portuguese. He was making sure that I could do it myself after he showed. Lesson contained plenty of different activities: explanation of new material by Leonardo, pronunciation and reading exercises, some grammar exercises. Leonardo was making sure that I can follow and was requesting feedback to adjust how he is conducting the lesson.
