I'm a teacher from the Netherlands that loves to explore new places! I love getting to learn about new countries and cultures. I'm a creative person that enjoys reading, drawing, photography and making clothes. I studied to become an international primary school teacher and have my Dutch teaching qualification as well. I have experience with teaching abroad in international schools for my studies and taught as a classroom teacher in a Dutch primary school for two years after finishing university. I also worked on curriculum design. After university, I also obtained my TEFL certification in Peru, where I realized I love teaching all different ages. I enjoy creating interactive lessons that require the student to think, but mostly ''do''. I believe that languages are best learned by being fully immersed in them. Students learn best through realistic situations and by getting a lot of time to talk. I value creating a bond with my students and learning about them as well, besides from just teaching a lesson and moving on with the day. Of course, this also helps to improve their English conversational skills!
I use ''dry'' materials, such as worksheets and reading exercises, but believe that a variety of learning materials is the best way to immerse oneself in a new language. Therefore, I also use media, games and creative assignments!Moje materiały dydaktyczne

Ik heb echt genoten van onze eerste les met Kyra! Ze had een geweldige manier om mijn fouten te corrigeren en verbeteringen aan te wijzen, en we hebben een persoonlijk plan opgesteld op basis van mijn leerdoelen. Ik kijk uit naar de volgende lessen!

I highly recommend Kyra as an English teacher. She has helped me to improve my fluency in the language while providing feedbacks on my pronunciation and grammar mistakes. I feel much more comfortable (and confident) to speak with natives since I started taking classes with her.

Nogmaals bedankt Kyra voor zulke plezierige en nuttige lessen. Ik voel me zeer bevoorrecht om lessen bij je te volgen. Je bent een heel aardige en zorgzame professional. Ik kan Kyra niet genoeg aanbevelen als je Nederlands wilt leren of verbeteren.
