Denisse Valenzuela

I am a native English speaker learning Spanish. Denisse is one of my favorite tutors and pivotal to my Spanish progress. I have been working with her since the very beginning of my Spanish journey. She has been the bridge between Duolingo to eventually Spanish proficiency. Denisse is the perfect supplement for practicing my listening and speaking. She is very patient and an awesome conversationalist. In the very beginning, we started very basic. Now we can have 80%+ of our conversations in Spanish through a range of topics in all tenses. I highly recommend Denisse to newbies with basic conservational Spanish or above. Denisse is very helpful because she is essentially native in English and can infer what you are trying to say and *emphasize* explain why . ~Why~ is vital as a non native because we need to learn by rules and reasoning. Do not be afraid of her Chilean accent! She can speak very slowly - depending on your level. I have never had any difficulty!

Talking to Denisse once or twice a week is the best thing that has ever happened to my Spanish. It is such a pleasure talking to her. We discuss a wide range of topics. She is gracious, open minded, calm and brilliant.

Denisse is an incredibly talented teacher who has been helping me with my Spanish language skills. She has a natural ability to make beginners feel comfortable and confident as they start to create their first sentences. As I progressed, Denisse helped me expand my vocabulary and improve my fluency, always with a patient and encouraging attitude. What impressed me the most is her knowledge of various languages, which allows her to adapt to the needs of students depending on their mother tongue. I highly recommend Denisse to anyone looking for a skilled and friendly Spanish teacher.

I've been taking lessons with Denisse over the last few weeks and they have been so amazing for my confidence in Spanish! I have definitely improved my level learning with her, she is so patient and encouraging. Whenever I make a mistake or learn a new word she always writes it down in the chat box so I can learn from it. She also gives amazing homework like podcasts to listen and read along to with the transcript which really help my listening and reading comprehension too. The podcasts are great because I pick up so much new vocabulary from them which helps expand my Spanish knowledge. Overall, I would 100% recommend Denisse, the learning environment is so comfortable and she makes you feel so at ease. Thank you Denisse!
