Hi, I'm Andrea, a Chilean with a passion for animals, food, nature, travelling and teaching. I was born and raised in Chile so my mother tongue is Spanish -Latin American Spanish.
I've lived in England and Serbia so one of my favourite topics for discussion is travelling and experiencing different cultures, their cuisines, and of course, foreign languages.

I graduated from university in Chile, where I studied to become a teacher of English. While still a student I won a scholarship to live in England and work as a Spanish tutor in a language school, so that experience really helped me become more fluent and relaxed about my use of English. I discovered that the most important thing when learning a language isn't to speak perfectly or with a specific accent, but to actually be able to communicate with other people and be understood, that's when learning really becomes motivating.
In 2017 I took the CELTA course which gave me a different perspective on how to teach using ONLY English, something I thought almost impossible.Moje lekcje & Styl nauczania
My lessons are based on conversation, so it all depends on the topics that interest you the most. I will also use short video clips or images to encourage communication. These materials all have some grammar point or new expression or vocabulary, so you won't end the class feeling like you haven't learnt anything. On the first lesson I will ask you some questions to get to know each other a bit and so I can see what level you have. I will suggest a topic for the lesson and from there on we will agree together what's the next step :)
We can also follow a coursebook if you'd like to have a structured pace. I like to work with motivated students who are willing to put some effort :)Moje materiały dydaktyczne

I really enjoyed my trial lesson with Andrea. She had me answer a certain variety of questions to get a feel for my current level of Spanish. From there, our time and conversation seemed to pass very naturally. By the end of our lesson she clearly had an idea for my current level and a formula for breaking barriers and improving my Spanish going forward. I definitely recommend taking a lesson with Andrea before she is completely booked. Do it now before it's too late!

I have met with Andrea three times already and plan to continue working with her on my Spanish. She has been able to provide a great balance of relaxed conversation and structured lessons that have helped me so much already. The usage of visuals, text, lesson plans, and other awesome resources is very helpful and it allows you to continue learning even after the lesson is over. I can’t recommend her enough. In our first meeting, she assessed what I need to work on and laid out a great plan, and now we meet weekly.

Andrea is a first class language professional, with significant experience in both lesson structure and delivery, which comes through in every lesson. This allows for step by step expansion of comprehension and understanding of key grammar and pronunciation. I thoroughly enjoy our lessons and look forward to continuing this process.
