I am a friendly and approachable English teacher from London who has lived and worked in a variety of countries. I am currently living in Italy and have been teaching English there since 2018 in state middle and high schools, as well as in private language schools. In the public middle and secondary schools, I prepare teenagers for their Cambridge FCE, PET and Key exams, and kids for their YL exams. I also examine these levels as a Cambridge Speaking Examiner. I myself am a keen language learner and speak a further 4 languages - French, German, Dutch and Italian. As a teacher I am positive, encouraging and dedicated. I am thorough in my approach, whilst still ensuring my lessons feel light and approachable. At my school, I am a popular teacher not just for my outgoing personality but primarily for the results and progress that my students achieve under my guidance. My lessons are fun and friendly, and leave my students with a motivated attitude. I love the 'eureka' moments in my students when they fully grasp a concept we have been working on, but above all I enjoy the two-way interaction and the moments shared. My lessons focus on the individual needs of the students, and are tailored around a communicative approach. Grammar is also taught using a communicative approach in which I convey and check understanding through a variety of methods. In conversation classes, I make use of lots of resources including current and relevant video clips and news articles, or I incorporate projects or games relating to a particular language point, transporting it off the page and making it more three-dimensional. I like to have a lot of fun in lessons, and convey my own personality and passion for language learning so that my students can feel at ease. Emily is a wonderful and super great teacher! She is very patience and mindful, and we can see her experience for teaching children. She is well prepared all the things for the class. My daughter is very love her! We highly recommend Emily :)

Thank you Emily for taking into account what I had planned to do in our first lesson and for sticking to this plan: we discussed the lexis on movies and money and also talked a bit about some ways to improve my pronunciation.
I am absolutely sure that, if we continue our lessons, you will always come up with some useful videos and articles to discuss and your feedback will be as accurate and professional as it was in our fist lesson.
