With a passion for food and culture, My journey has taken me around the globe. After earning degrees in Culinary Arts and Early Childhood Education, this California native worked as a chef and preschool teacher. But it was my first international trip in 2017 that opened my eyes to the world of online English teaching. I began working for the Chinese company DaDaABC in 2018, and soon left the U.S. to start traveling full-time. Now, as a digital nomad, I get to share my love of learning with students of all ages on Italki. The lessons are interactive and forcing the kid to answer questions and talk. For smaller kids like my son (age 6) Vanessa prepares various materials depending on the interest and you can give her a tip what would be interesting for your kid, e.g. watching scooter stunts on YouTube etc. Vanessa also provides a report for each lesson, where parents can read what was exactly said.
