Depeng

I want to thank Depeng Laoshi here for all his efforts to help me progress in Chinese. His explanations are always very clear (he is a trained teacher of Chinese as a foreign language), and I also like discussing (more and more in Chinese !) broader topics like the role of the UN in the world.

I so appreciate Depeng's individualized teaching methods, supportive demeanor, and willingness to help me with my goal - to take and pass the HSK 1 exam at 61 years old! Although I am only able to speak simply in Mandarin Chinese, before and after lessons, Depeng's expert knowledge of English allows us to discuss international relations and nuanced subject matter at an academic level. I appreciate his good humor and patience when my cats jump onto my desk - and right into our lessons! I have been working with Depeng several times per week for a month and have just booked my next month of lessons. I look forward to each session (5:00 AM!) knowing I will learn in the context of Depeng's expertise, warmth, and humanity.

Depeng paced the lesson well, focused on new content, and was flexible and welcomed suggestions. I look forward to my next lesson.

Depeng is an excellent teacher, very patient and he always gives clear explanations, I really enjoy studying with him

I’ve taken two 30-min classes here. Personally I didn’t feel the enthusiasm with the teaching engagement. The teacher could take more initiative to lead the session when conversations ran dry which happened about 8 mins in. However, the teacher was very accommodating and eager for class time arrangement.
