Hi, I'm Lara. I am a South African living in Cape Town, South Africa. I love to travel. I love talking about travelling and destinations and cultures from all over the world. Let's chat about travelling together!
My main hobby is reading. I particularly love to read fantasy and historical fiction and use this time as an escape from the real world.
I love learning new languages, I speak English and Afrikaans fluently and I am learning to speak Portuguese, iSiXhosa and German. I like to use a variety of teaching styles to find out what works best for each learner, these include:
Visual - images, flashcards and graphs to spark conversation and improve vocabulary.
Audio - audio clips and short videos that enhance classroom topics.
Written - once writing, I encourage learners to write and practice as much as possible.
Movement - sometimes jumping, clapping and acting helps us learn quicker.
Games - I enjoy turning learning activities into games so that we can learn without even noticing it!

I like to use phonetics (Jolly Phonics) and other fun teaching techniques to encourage good English skills.
