Shoko Toda

Shoko-Sensei’s classes are always so good! She provides the same questions at the beginning of each class so I can get into the practice of how to answer. The topics she comes up with are very useful and enjoyable. I highly recommend her, especially if you’re new to Japanese

ありがとうございました！Another great lesson with しょこ先生。This week Shoko taught me more kanji, we did a JLPT N5 kanji review, reviewed the より、のほうが comparisons and learnt how to conjugate adjectives into the くて、で forms! また来週ね！

Shoko san is an amazing teacher! I took her Japanese for trip (short course) ahead of a trip to Japan. She was very clear in her explanations and examples, and she had so much patience with me. Also, she asked questions regarding what I planned for my trip and geared the conversations towards useful phrases. She always provided time for my questions, not only about the language, but about Japanese culture, and my specific interests. Shoko san went above and beyond by also providing information about local businesses that I expressed interest in. Through working with her I gained the confidence to attempt speaking Japanese!

I’ve had a few lessons and I already feel confident and motivated. Shoko 先生 always takes the time to make sure I understand everything and answers my questions thoroughly. The homework and flash cards she provides have allowed me to remember the lesson and apply the knowledge I’ve accumulated. I appreciate you, Shoko 先生, for your efforts!

Shoko 先生 is a very patient and understanding tutor! I am continuing to take classes with her because she is very flexible with what we practice and go over. I know I can ask her any Japanese question I may have and learn something new. Conversation in another language may be hard, but Shoko 先生 makes it fun!

I had a trial lesson and just finished my first lesson with Shoko-sensei, and it was a fantastic experience! I've started studying Japanese 1 month ago as motivation for an upcoming trip to Japan, and Shoko-sensei is very patient. She understands very well what terms/grammar to use for beginners which really help with learning and understanding while progressing. She also has relevant material prepped for travellers to Japan which I found to be invaluable. I look forward to the next lesson, and also plan on continuing my lessons after my trip.
