I really enjoy writing short stories and poetry. I have also worked as a teacher of English in schools. Now, I live in France where I specialise in teaching English to non-native English speakers. I'm a warm, fun, kind, welcoming, encouraging and patient person. I'm very interested in music, politics, philosophy, comedy, sports and meeting new people. have a lot of experience teaching, and I pride myself on being able to make people feel comfortable in my presence. I graduated with a BSc in Psychology before then obtaining a MSc in Cognitive Robotics. Later, I earned a PGCE with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and have taught English and Maths in UK schools for about 5 years.
I have taught over 100 non-native English speakers in the past year.

I like to keep things upbeat and entertaining because I recognise that both sustaining the motivation to learn and building consistency through regular lessons are key elements when acquiring a language. I am, however, also very sensitive to the needs of the individual, and I aim to build confidence in the most effective way possible, which at times can require a gentler and more structured approach. Essentially, I adapt my style to meet the demands of the learner, and I try to ensure that they are the stars of the lesson. I’ve been studying with Richard for quite some time now, and I am absolutely delighted to say that he is not only an exceptional teacher with a vast array of exemplary teaching methods tailored to different levels, but also a remarkable conversationalist.
Right From the very outset, Richard has setup a friendly and supportive atmosphere where I initially started with a roughly estimated A2 level, and I am now comfortably positioned at a C1 level.
While my initial goal was to excel in the IELTS examination, Richard’s approach equipped me to discuss intricate matters that encompass various domains.
He is an excellent listener, pay attention to detail, maintains a patient demeanor, and consistently provides invaluable , well- documented feedback.
