My name is Josanne, I'm from the Netherlands and I'm a jurist (criminal law), tutor, study supervisor, group fitness instructor and language lover. My native language is Dutch, but I also speak English, (Swiss) German, French and a bit of Spanish. I'm learning Italian and Japanese and I'm enjoying every frustrating bit of it.
My love for languages comes with a passion for writing and reading. Every year I participate in NaNoWriMo and I do so in one of my target languages since 2021.
The books I read are very diverse, but my absolute favourite genre is medical thriller. I hope that one day one of my NaNo-projects turns out to be my debut roman in that genre.Ja jako nauczyciel
I have worked as a teacher in high school for Dutch and in adult education for Dutch and German. Since secondary school, I have been tutoring students in Dutch, English and German. At the moment I also work as a tutor for criminal law, looking for a place to obtain a PhD. I can easily adapt to your (language) learning needs and style. I believe that you learn the most when you're enjoying what you're doing and having fun.
My lessons are conversation based; I do not teach Dutch from scratch and I do not offer a structured A to Z course. I'd rather see myself as a coach on your language learning journey than as a teacher pur sang. After all, it's you who has to do the learning!Moje lekcje & Styl nauczania
By learning other languages, I have also started looking at Dutch with different eyes, recognising the pitfalls learners may encounter.
Even though I can easily talk about almost anything, the point of language learning is to get you to speak. During my lessons you will take the active role and I will only interrupt your flow of speech in situations I consider appropriate. I will make corrections in the chat window during our conversation, or we could use a shared Google Doc.
I’d be thrilled to help you identify and overcome the quirks of the Dutch language. Trust me, I know how learning a foreign language can be frustrating and fulfilling at the same time!Moje materiały dydaktyczne

Josanne is a wonderful teacher and conversation partner. She is enthusiastic about learning new languages, so she really understands the challenges of learning a new language as an adult.
