How do you write "to" in portuguese? For example, "I like to write" would be what in portuguese?

Oohh I just remembered that even the sentence I just wrote you: nice to meet you, in Portuguese you can say: "prazer em conhecer você", " prazer em conhecê-la" "prazer te conhecer"

Hi, Kaya! In this case you would write "Eu gosto de escrever", but there are other situations that the word "to" would turn into different words with different meanings in portuguese. By the way, I would love to help you with portuguese in my conversation sessions. You'll learn in a light and enjoyable environment! How about giving it a try? Oh! And I have some good news! Due to the last dollar increase, I decided to lower my conversation and reading session prices in order for students to pump their practicing frequency! Take a look at my profile! :) Tutor Bia

Hi Kaya, nice to meet you! Simone is totally right. I just would like to add that there're other translations for "to" and that will depend on other words/verbs in the sentence. For example the sentence: "I go to work (today)": "Eu vou ao trabalho (hoje)" or: " Eu vou para o trabalho (hoje)". Another example: I listen to this song: Eu ouço essa música, in this case there's no translation for "to", but in English you need to say "to" after the verb listen, same happens with the verb decide, and other verbs. Another example: "Nobody writes to me" it can be: Ninguém escreve para mim or it can also be: Ninguém me escreve. Well, I hope I managed to help you. I think that's a lot of things to explain about it and other parts of the grammar, so if you need more clarification about Brazilian Portuguese, you're more than welcome to book lessons with me, it'll be a pleasure to help you to speak my mother tongue. 😊 cya

Hi Kaya! In Portuguese the expression "I like to ...(do something, the second verb)" is:" Eu gosto de... (and then comes the second verb also)". In your example: "I like to write" = "Eu gosto de escrever". For another verbs: " Eu gosto de ler" (= I like to read); "Eu gosto de dançar" (I like to dance), etc.
