Overrated: Something that is praised by others, but in fact isn’t so impressive. Ex.: The restaurant around the corner has very good reviews, but you think the food is just mediocre. Underrated: Something that is not talked about a lot, but offers great quality. Ex.: Learning languages through reading is underrated. It’s rarely mentioned but in your experience it helps a lot.

Examples: I think pizza is overrated: it's just bread and cheese! Some brands are overrated - the cheaper supermarket versions are just as good. Some seaside towns in the north of Europe are underrated. People seem to prefer southern Europe, I guess because of the weather. But northern Europe has beautiful beaches. Yes, definitely underrated! And I like this one from the Washington Post "One of the most underrated ways to deal with indecision is just not to decide." washingtonpost.com
