Many individuals believe that social skills are becoming more and more important nowadays and it is becoming necessary, professionally, to be successful in finding a job or even in workplaces. Even though some people whose jobs are based on communicating with others need to work on their social skills, I personally disagree that everybody needs to have excellent social skills to be successful in their profession. Thanks to the fast, marvelous progress in technology and the vast range of job applicants that industries need nowadays, I think individuals must make an effort to increase their profession knowledge in their special field instead of working on different abilities. For instance, when a web developer is going to be employed in a high-tech company, he/she should just be able to design a perfect website and not be expected to have special social skills for contacting customers, because some others with this skill will do that much better. Furthermore, I strongly believe that in the future, the best companies will pay more money to someone who is more skillful in their specially needed job, therefore we should focus on our favorite skill. Some may argue that social skills are necessary for everybody's communication and for employees to increase the number of customers. However, everyone has some basic social skills and companies nowadays recruit people that took their academic degree in this field like consultants, marketers and so on. In conclusion, thanks to some basic social skills that everyone has, I disagree with the idea that everyone needs to have high social skills to be successful in their professional field.
