wire net, gauze, and mesh probably have different size holes, thickness of wire, and uses/applications. Probably only experts and people who use them will know the differences. In general though, a net has the biggest holes (like for catching fish), a mesh will have smaller holes (like a window screen to keep bugs out), and gauze will have the smallest holes - you might not even see them since they're so much like fabric (often used as wrapping bandages). Also, google image search might help understand the difference in materials: wire net http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=wire%20net&gbv=2&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=5801l6306l0l6685l8l5l0l0l0l0l182l737l0.5l5l0&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&authuser=0 wire gauze http://www.google.com/search?q=wire+gauze&hl=en&gbv=2&prmd=ivns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&ei=dRAVT9PrFdGgtwfNrIzuAQ&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=2&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ&oq=wire+gauze&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=3234l3737l0l3923l5l5l0l0l0l3l178l539l1.3l4l0 wire mesh http://www.google.com/search?q=wire+mesh&hl=en&gbv=2&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=449l842l0l1854l4l4l0l0l0l0l577l577l5-1l1l0&um=1&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&authuser=0&oq=wire+mesh&aq=f&aqi=&aql= I think that n the context of wire stuff, mesh could be considered finer than gauze.
