'ever' can be used as an intensive; he looks ever so hungry.
it can be used to say 'at any time;' more than ever...
it can be used to say 'in any way;' how can I ever...
'Even" can also be used as an intensive. As an intensive, it can be used to describe comparitive degree; he did even worse
to emphasize something; so simple even he could
to indicate an amount; didn't even try.
Eve an also be used to say 'to a degree that extends;' faithful even unto death.
