We say "i'm on vacation" or "i'm in vacation" ??
What's the right writing ? And why ?

"I'm on vacation." We use "on" when talking about organised events... the idea is that the event is "happening".
If you use "in", then I think the vacation is a sort of box, and you are inside it.
