How to say "from" someone
Hello! I really can't find any information on this. I want to say "from" someone. like, "from my friend." "I received a gift from my friend" How can I say this in Japanese? is it "友達に"?
I received a gift from my friend.
友達からプレゼントをもらった。 [から: from]
友達 + から + プレゼント + を + もらった。
friend + from + gift + received.
To say it in a polite way:
友達からプレゼントをもらいました。
If it was a b-day gift, you can say:
誕生日プレゼント

'友達から' is right. In this case, '友達に' is also correct:)
