midnight is 0:00 or 24:00.? For example, the midnight of 2015.08.17 is referred to the 0:00 of 2015.08.17 or 0:00 of 2015.08.18? Thank you.

Except for New Zealand, English speaking countries use the 12-hour format; so we'd say 12:00am for midnight. Midnight is 0:00 for countries that use the 24-hour format. Dates are also written differently than in Chinese. The date is never written as Year/Month/Day in English. Most countries use the international standard, Day/Month/Year, but Month/Day/Year is often used in the US.

It's usually written as 2359, because 0000 or 2400 can be confusing. This is referred to as military time. Military communication regulations in some English-speaking countries discourage the use of 24:00 even in the 24-hour notation, and recommend reporting times near midnight as 23:59 or 00:01 instead.

It just depends on the day that you are referring to. Today, the day starts at 00:00 hours and ends at 24:00 hours. Tomorrow, the day will start at 00:00 hours and end at 24:00 hours. 00:00 hours = midnight (start of the day) 24:00 hours = midnight (end of the day)

it's 00.00 18/08 because it's the beginning of the new day
