What are the specific differences in impede/hinder/hamper/obstruct?Thanking U!? Ihm confused about these four words.

Off the top of my head and without giving it too much thought I would say that impede and hinder are synonymous with perhaps impede being slightly more formal than hinder. They both mean to 'prevent something from continuing smoothly' whereas obstruct might be more synonymous with 'block' - to prevent something from moving. Not a very thorough answer but hope it helps.
