You will decide what to do as you go along. OR you make a plan as you go. What's the meaning 'as you go along' and 'as you go' in the sentences? Could anyone make it easier to understand? And for the record, I got the meanings of the two sentences above, because the both sentences are being used to explain what the phrase 'play it by ear' means. Thanks in advance.

As you go and as you go along are similar in meaning. Examples: Your fluency with improve as you go further in your studies. The movie gets better as it moves along in the story. Plan as you go means you didnt have plans before. Example We plan as we go day by day as kids changed their minds about where they wanted to go hourly.

It means as you continue. So you could say ' Your French will get much better as you go along with your daily lessons ' ' Your cooking will improve as you go along practicing '
