Is the scottish accent very difficult to understand?
I will live in Scotland for several months. I understand English well, but I looked in youtube for "scottish accent", and I am afraid that I will need to adapt my brain to these new sounds. My question is the following. Are the youtube videos somewhat biased toward the not-understandable, or it is not that bad?

Like most countries, Scotland has many accents. I recommend that you study videos of people from the place in Scotland where you will go. Some Scottish accents have a reputation across the English-speaking word for their clarity e.g. the Inverness accent.

You will definitely need to tune your ears to the Scottish accent. Find a few kind Scots who will patiently guide you and speak a little more slowly for you.
If you want to work with videos, try writing down what you *think* the person is saying, then post a question here with your text and a link to the video. We can help you. :) You don't need to write a whole transcript; just a couple of sentences will be enough.
