Learning? What is the difference between sto imparando italiano and ho imparando italiano. Or, when and how would you use imparato?

Hi Colin! "Sto imparando l'italiano" means "I'm learning Italian", while "ho imparaTo l'italiano" = "I've learnt Italian". Like in English, the first sentence means you're currently learning. The second implies you know Italian yet, because it's a finished action. I hope my explanation sounds clear, if not, tell me. I'll try with others examples. Bye!

Grazie Stefano. Non ancora sono fluente.

"Sto imparando" significa che tu ora stai studiando per imparare la lingua. "Ho imparato" vuol dire che non hai più bisogno di studiare perché parli la lingua in maniera fluente.
