What is the meaning of "situation comedy (= sitcom)" and "slapstick comedy / comedian" ?
Fawlty Towers is still one of the most popular situation comedies on TV.
I love all those slapstick comedies from the 1920s.

A situation comedy or sitcom is set around a certain amount of actors or characters in different situations. The episodes of each sitcom carry over into another episode with each of the set actors still in the same setting but in different situations.
slapstick - is a style of humour with exaggerated physical activity - everything is over the top - exaggerated
I agree - I love Basil Fawlty
Hope this helps
