¿Si quiero usar una corta forma de la palabra ‘Cafetería’, todavía usaría el artículo definido ‘La’? Como ‘La café’

I'm allways saying "un cafe', but the form i met most of the times is "la cafe". It doesn't mean that in slang it isn't El Cafe. I suppose that it can be because informal language is allways in moove. It changes itself quickly and often.

No, al usar la forma corta se debe cambiar al artículo masculino----> "El Café".
