As if I ever would What's the meaning of this expression "As if I ever would!"? Please provide some example sentences for better understanding.

Sometimes people say "as if" which is short for "as if I ever would" which itself is a short form. I like the example from Quora: "He asked me to pay for his lunch, as if (I ever would (pay for his lunch)).” It means I would never pay for his lunch but he asked me to pay as if I would. Again, he's wrong, I won't pay. lol :)
