web etiquette: How do I politly reject people on WG-gesucht since I have signed a contract? The whole thing goes like this: I am recommended to contact landlords/landladies on WG-gesucht in advance because it's very hard to find one before semesters. So I browsed the ads for a day then send a message to my favourite one and introducing myself, hoping to find a WG-Zimmer or 1-Zimmer-Apartment. I wrote clearly that (1)I am still in China right now and will arrive there in October or November, etc.(2) I don't have SCHUFA but have a blocked account (3)I will be a language student and live there for half a year of a year(4) I don't speak much German. I asked some questions I concerned about and ask if I can see the room in person in October or November. But I did not receive his reply for 2 days (And I can see that he is online). Therefore I searched for more information online(most in English and Chinese). It says that it's very common that your messages are ignored directly on WG-gesucht and in general German landlords prefer, of course, renters with good German skills. For WG, hard interviews would be held as well. Therefore I think, ok, I should be prepared for dozens of rejections. So I sent another 3 messages and one of them is replied instantly and that landlord offered an online-tour and answered every question of mine clearly. In short, the interview is good for both. Then I signed the contract with him. Afterward, however, my other 2 messages got their replies. They are glad to make an appointment and ask me when I will be there, etc. (like this: Gern können Sie die Wohnung mieten. .... How could I politely tell them that they do not need to wait for me(or for my reply) because I have booked a room with others and no longer need a room?
