When do you use "koto"? 1) thing 2)an ancient city (like nara or kyoto) 3)a long Japanese zither with thirteen strings (It is japanese traditional musical instrument. I cannot play koto.)

異【こと】 (n,adj-na,n-pref) (1) (arch) difference (from one another); different thing; other; (adj-na) (2) unusual; extraordinary. Note: Koto, this word alone, it has more than one meaning nomu= 飲む ( to drink) takai = 高い ( high, tall) umai = 甘い (sweet, delicious)
