Christmas in Korea Q to the Koreans: How do you celebrate Christmas in your home? I have the impression that it's more of a couple holiday there than here (where the focus is on the family)... is that true?

depends on how wealthy you are. some people book really expensive hotels for gathering with friedns or girlfreidn/boyfriend while some others watch special christmas tv programs at home.

Ah, 'tis the season to be jolly after all! 'Who the heck made this day' for couples can often be answered by 'someone out to make money' ㅎㅎ

Hi, Mat. My family doesn't celebrate Christmas in any ways. But I think I feel a little excited for some reason I still couldn't figure out. LOL Some parents order some food like pizza, chicken, or cake for their kids. Some go on vacation, some go out for many types of reunions. And yes, you can see lots of couples out there on Christmas. Lots of singles shout ㅋㅋ 'I wish I had a girlfriend/boyfriend!' especially this time of a year.(I think there are several other 'who the heck made this day'-days for couplesㅋㅋ) I think we more focus on our family on Seollal and Chuseok.

Personally I'm spending Christmas outside of Norway for the first time this year... in the South Pacific! So I guess I should be asking them how they spend Christmas.
