"People resent it (the English language), and I understand that because it's imposed on a lot of people, and obviously, we can't expect everyone to be excited about learning it. So I totally understand those feelings, which are valid. I think then, if you can't get excited about English, what can you get excited about? What interests you, in general?"

Der Glücksatlas 2022

„Auf einer Skala von 0 – 10, wie zufrieden sind Sie mit Ihrem Leben?“ Fragen dieser Art wurden einer repräsentativen Anzahl von Deutschen gestellt. Das Ergebnis wurde kürzlich im Glücksatlas 2022 veröffentlicht.  Der durchschnittliche Glücksindex der Deutschen liegt bei 6,86. Seit seinem Tiefstand Im Jahr 2021 hat er somit 0,28 Punkte aufgeholt. Die Pandemie mit all ihren Problemen hat die Zahl der unglücklichen Deutschen stark erhöht. Der Ukraine-Krieg und die Inflation sorgen weiterhin dafür, dass der Wert von 7,14  aus dem Jahr 2019 nur schwer erreichbar scheint. 
Generell sind die westdeutschen Bundesländer zufriedener mit ihrem Leben als die ostdeutschen: In Schleswig-Holstein beispielsweise wohnen die glücklichsten Menschen und in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern die unglücklichsten. 
Gegenüber 2019 verloren die jungen Leute, die Generation Z, durch Covid einen ganzen Punkt an Lebenszufriedenheit. Rentner hingegen sind nur noch 0,19 Punkte vom früheren Niveau entfernt.
