Здравствуйте. Это четвёртый эпизод подкаста "Глубинный народ", взгляд на культуру России из провинции.  

У школьных учителей в России есть такая шутка.

"Попробуйте ответить на вопрос. Как правильно сказать: у рыбов нет зубов, у рыбей нет зубей или у рыб нет зуб?"

В этой шутке мы видим три окончания формы родительного падежа множественного числа существительных:
-ов (-ев): столов, компьютеров, платьев;
-ей: морей, мышей, дочерей;
нулевое окончание: башен, вишен, туч.

Эта форма очень трудна, потому что закономерности выбора окончания хотя и существуют, но их очень много — и они непоследовательны.

В советской "Песне о Родине" есть такие строки:

"Широка страна моя родная, 
Много в ней лесов, полей и рек."

Во второй строке мы также видим те же окончания.

А как вы ответите на вопрос про рыб и про зубы?

はい、こんにちは。今回は ポッドキャストの15回目です。もう2月ですが、大阪はまだ少し寒いです。晴れているのに雪が降っている日もあって、不思議な天気です。洗濯物はまだ乾きにくいですね。

Hello. This is the podcast episode 15. It's already February, but it's still a bit cold in Osaka. It's a strange weather, with sunny but snowing days. It's still hard to dry the laundry.

私は先日、確定申告を終わらせました。確定申告というのは、自営業者が毎年、自分の１年間の収入を政府に報告することです。自営業者というのは、会社に勤めずに、自分で仕事をしている人です。そして、所得税を払います。所得税というのは、収入にかかる税金です。会社員の所得税は、給料から引かれるので、確定申告をする必要はありません。

I have just finished my tax return. Kakutei Shinkoku (a tax return) is an annual report by a self-employed person to the government on their income for the year. Jieigyousha (a self-employed person) is a person who does not work for a company, but works on his own. And they pay income tax. Shotokuzei (income tax) is a tax on income. Income tax for company employees is deducted from their wages, so there is no need to file a tax return.

日本では、確定申告はオンラインですることができます。実は、日本の政府のオンラインサービスは、数年前まで、あまり便利じゃありませんでした。政府の ウェブデザインはとても時代遅れで、見づらかったです。そこで、2021年に菅総理大臣が「デジタル庁」というオンラインサービスを担当する部署を作りました。政府の ウェブサイトやアプリは2021年からリニューアルされて、見やすくなりました 。確定申告をするためのソフトウェアは、まだエラーが多くて少し不便ですが、少しずつ良くなっていくといいです。

In Japan, tax returns can be filed online. Actually, the Japanese government's online services were not very convenient until a few years ago. The government's web design was very outdated and difficult to read. So, in 2021, Prime Minister Suga created a department called the "Digital Agency" to be in charge of online services. The government's website and apps were redesigned in 2021 to make them easier to navigate. The software for filing tax returns is still a little inconvenient with many errors, but hopefully it will gradually get better.

そして所得税はコンビニで払うことができます。確定申告をした後に表示される QR コードを使って、コンビニのレジで払います 。コンビニで払う場合は現金しか使えませんが、オンラインで払う場合は、クレジットカードや銀行振込で納税することもできます。納税するというのは国に税金を払うことです 。私はレシートが欲しかったので、コンビニで払うことにしました。インターネットで調べたら、アメリカなどの他の国でも、コンビニで納税することができるらしいですね。これはとても便利だと思います。

MELISSA: Well, I’d like to go somewhere warm. How about
the beach? Or we could rent a cabin on the lake.
JAKE: You want to go to the beach, again? I want to ski 
this winter. How about a compromise? What about 
traveling to the Alps in Europe next April? We can 
find a ski resort on a lake.
MELISSA: Oh, we’ve never been to Europe before! But I don’t 
know if it will be sunny and warm then. I need to 
do some research first. That will help me make up
my mind.



LANGUAGE NOTES
• Decide is a useful verb to express choice. The idiom “to make up my mind” also 
means “to decide”: “There are so many choices in this menu. It’s going to take awhile 
to make up my mind/decide.” You can finish this sentence with either the idiom or the 
verb “decide.”
• How about This phrase presents an alternative. This phrase can be followed by a 
subject plus a conjugated verb or by a noun: How about we go swimming? / How about 
a movie tonight?
• Many verbs express opinions: to think / to believe / to suppose / to assume, etc. They 
are not all synonymous. For example, “to suppose” and “to assume” express that the 
speaker has a preconceived idea: He came back late from work, so I assumed that traffic 
was bad. /I suppose that may not have been the case, and that he might just have had a 
lot of work.

EL ESCUDO NACIONAL.

Águila real, serpiente, nopal, caracoles, olivo, encino; agua, aire, tierra y fuego, compendian riqueza y fortaleza de una nación

Restablecer el simbolismo del águila real en el escudo de una nación negada y destruida por los españoles, respondió en los albores del siglo XIX a la necesidad imperiosa de los insurgentes de recuperar el cordón umbilical del México independiente con el México prehispánico.

Posada sobre un nopal, el águila sagrada representaba a Huitzilopochtli, dios solar y de la guerra, a quien se identifica con el Sol, al ser el ave que vuela a mayor altura, tal como lo hace el astro, y es la representación misma del dios tutelar de los mexicas.

Huitzilopochtli dio a los antiguos mexicanos las señales del sitio exacto donde habrían de erigir la gran Tenochtitlan.

Y de ese pasaje guardado en la memoria de los tiempos, bajo el reinado del rey tenochca Moctezuma un artista anónimo esculpió el Teocalli de la Guerra Sagrada, donde en una cara aparece el tlatoani (Moctezuma) y el numen Huitzilopochtli flanqueando una imagen solar, y en el anverso un águila parada sobre un nopal surge de Tlaltecuhtli, la Tierra, en medio del lago de Texcoco.

El dominico fray Diego Durán relata en su Historia de las Indias de la Nueva España e islas de la tierra firme que en la imagen del águila dorada puesta de relieve en el Teocalli de la Guerra Sagrada de su pico surge el atlachinolli (agua de fuego) o símbolo de la guerra, que bien puede confundirse con una serpiente.

Ahí se unen los componentes del emblema de Tenochtitlan: el águila, el nopal y la ausencia-presencia del ofidio.

Señala el Códice Durán que el ave aprisiona entre sus garras pájaros que devora con su pico, pero también advierte sobre la figura de la serpiente, ya que en una lámina presenta un águila que devora pájaros y otra que agarra una serpiente.
